After completing this section, your Receptive account will be ready to launch to teams and customers.
Check out the Receptive overview video if you need a refresher!
Account setup involves three parts:
We'll go through each of these below.
You'll follow the exact same steps except:
- You'll turn customer notifications off when reviewing account settings
- Your dev team won't expose a link to Receptive as the last step in the integration.
1. Set up your modules
Before you set up the Receptive integration, you need to decide which modules you're going to use in Receptive.
You need to do this now so you can tell your development team exactly how you need the integration set up.
Resources:
If you're not sure how to configure your modules, check with our success team for guidance.
To create your modules in Receptive, head over to Settings > Modules > Manage modules and add your new modules. Read more here. You'll be limited to a certain number based on your plan, so just get in touch with support to add on an extra bundle if needed.
2. Integrate with Receptive
Why do I need to set up the Receptive integration?
Receptive was built for SaaS businesses so the Receptive javascript integration is very straightforward.
Your dev team needs to know a few things about the Receptive integration in order to get started. Use our template here.
Once the instructions have been sent off to the dev team you can move on to...
3. Set up your Receptive account
There are a few items you need to customize in your account to get it ready for launch. We've made it easy with templates and best practices for each step below, so if you're not sure, just start with what we recommend and you can tweak it as you go, or get in touch with our Success team.
Account settings
Head over to your account settings and:
- Upload your logo
- Update your email settings
- Decide on anonymity, moderation, enable/disable new customer requests, etc.
Take a quick look through your entire settings area to make sure everything is set up the way you want it.
Suggest form
Customize your request form based on the type of feedback you want, using our best practices / suggestions.
Awaiting feedback saved response
Set up an "Awaiting Feedback" custom saved response so you can quickly manage new feedback. (See our recommended template here.)
Import your backlog
Populate your Receptive account by importing some items from your backlog, anything you're currently building, and a few recent releases. After uploading, just bulk update the status of each item.
If you're launching immediately, go ahead and invite your teams in now. Be sure to send our "How-to" guides to each of your teams as you invite them in. Then simply continue through the rest of this guide.
